Fringe is an U . s . science fiction television series put together by J. J. Abrams, Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci. The series follows any Federal Bureau of Exploration “Fringe Division” team within Boston, Massachusetts under the watch of Homeland Security. The team uses unorthodox “fringe” research and FBI investigative techniques to investigate a few unexplained, often ghastly occurrences, which are related in order to mysteries surrounding a parallel world. The show has been identified as a hybrid of This X-Files, Altered States, The Twilight Zone and Dark Angel.

The series premiered in America on September 9, 2008, on the Fox network. The series is at the moment in its fourth season, which premiered on Sept 23, 2011.

Fringe follows the casework of the Fringe Division, a Joint Federal Process Force supported primarily with the Federal Bureau of Exploration, which includes Agent Olivia Dunham; Dr. Walter Bishop, the archetypal mad scientist; and Peter Bishop, Walter’s estranged son in addition to jack-of-all-trades. They are supported by simply Phillip Broyles, the force’s director, and Agent Astrid Farnsworth, who assists Walter in laboratory research. The Fringe Division investigates cases in relation to fringe science, ranging from transhumanist experiments gone wrong towards prospect of a destructive technological singularity to a possible collision of two parallel universes. The Fringe Division’s function often intersects with advanced biotechnology manufactured by a company called Significant Dynamic, founded by Walter’s ex- partner, Dr. William Bell and run by their common friend, Nina Sharp. The team is in addition watched silently by a small grouping of bald, pale men who are called “Observers”.

The show’s standard opening sequence interplays images in the glyph symbols alongside text representing fringe science subjects, such as “teleportation” and also “dark matter”. Within the third period, with episodes that was held primarily in the parallel whole world, a new set involving titles was used, following a similar formatting, though tinted red rather then blue and using different fringe science concepts similar to “hypnosis” and “neuroscience”. The difference in coloring has led some fans to call the leading universe the Blue one unlike the Red parallel just one. In the third time episode “Entrada”, the titles used combining both the blue- along with red-tinted versions, given the episode taking place equally in both universes. In the show’s a pair of flashback episodes, “Peter” and “Subject 13″, a variation on the actual sequence, using retro graphics similar to 1980s technology and keyword phrases like “personal computing” along with “genetic engineering”, was used, while for the dystopian future third season episode “The Time We Died”, a black-toned theme, with more dire words like “hope” and “water” seemed to be introduced. The fourth season premiere, “Neither Here Nor There” unveiled an amber-toned title routine with additional new phrases.
